PORTDARA U18's win in Enniscorthy

Another win on the road for PortDara 18s
PortDara U18s made it 2 from 2 in the Premier division of the Leinster League as they beat one of the favourites, Southeast Lions, in Enniscorthy on Saturday.
The game couldn't have started better for the girls when 3 minutes in Blathnaid Smith touched down after 3 minutes of excellent forward play inside the oppositions 22. Amy Rushton Added the extra points fron the conversion.

Playing with a reasonably strong wind at their backs PortDara continue the pressure and with all the possession inside the Lions half it took just another 6 minutes and more forward domination to add a second in the 9th minute from Hannah Wilson. Mairead Scully added the extra points . A dominant back row led by player of the match Orla McDonald continued to pressurize the Lions forwards and following a turnover inside the Lions 22 Ruth Whittle burst over from close in to make it 19 - 0 after 21 minutes. PortDara didn't add to the score before half-time despite some very close calls close to the line.

The second half was a much closer affair but indiscipline from the Lions prevented them from getting a foothold in the game, firstly losing their centre to a yellow card after 15 minutes. PortDara capitalised immediately when Blathnaid Smith got her second of the afternoon, Eadaoin Murtagh, assuming the kicking duties was unlucky with the conversion.
The Lions eventually got some reward for their efforts as the game opened up. Two tries from the Lions No 12 within 3 minutes woke the PortDara girls up but whatever chance the Lions had of getting closer all but disappeared when a second yellow for their centre resulted in red and they would finish the game with 14. Port Dara saw out the remaining 10 minutes comfortably.
