U14 Boys — End of Season Awards
What a season it has been for our U14 Boys. From the very first training session to the final whistle of the season, this group of young men have grown together in ways that will stay with them long after the boots have been hung up. The journey these boys have undergone will always be remembered — not just for what they achieved on the pitch, but for the character they showed in every step of the way.
Player of the Year — Tom Coen
Tom has been a standout performer throughout the entire season, consistently leading by example and raising the bar for everyone around him. His commitment, work rate, and quality on the pitch made him a deserving choice for Player of the Year — a truly exceptional season from a truly exceptional young player.
Most Improved Player — Oisin Geoghegan
Oisin's journey this season has been one of the highlights of the year. The improvement he has shown from week to week — in skill, confidence, and understanding of the game — has been a real joy to watch, and his dedication to getting better every single session is something every player can look up to.
Top Scorers-- Top three
Bradley Cooper — 170 points
Tom Coen — 149 points
Sam Petriw — 55 points
Perfect Attendance — Top Three
Bradley Cooper — 99%
Oisin geoghegan — 93%
Tadgh O Connor — 91%
A huge well done to all three — showing up consistently is half the battle, and these lads showed up every week.
Team Leadership
This squad elected their own leaders, and what a choice they made. Captains Sean Fitzpatrick and Bradley Cooper led with pride and dignity all season long, while Vice Captains Tom Coen and Oisin Geoghegan provided outstanding support both on and off the pitch. The leadership shown within this group will stand incredibly well for the future of Portarlington RFC.
A Word of Thanks
None of this happens without support behind it, and we want to take a moment to acknowledge just how much goes on behind the scenes to make this team the success that it is.
To Portarlington RFC — thank you for your unwavering support and for providing the facilities that give these boys a home to develop, compete, and thrive. The club is the foundation everything else is built on.
To the Parents who travelled to away games — your presence on the sideline matters more than you know. And to those who showed up on home match days with food and a helping hand — that warmth and generosity creates an environment that players and coaches are proud to be part of.
And finally, to the Coaches and Admin Team — the amount of work that goes on in the background, unseen and often unacknowledged, is immense. The planning, the preparation, the messages, the logistics — it all adds up to something extraordinary, and this season is a testament to your dedication and passion for these young players.
To the U14 Boys — we are so proud of every single one of you. This group is very special.
